A launch is scheduled for Friday and Saturday this weekend. There are only a few individuals signed up for Friday, so please check later in the week to see if there are any changes to the schedule and to Confirm there is a Friday Launch.
If you haven't done so and plan to launch on one of these days (30th or 31st), please contact Doug Riecken driecken@nb.sympatico.ca directly with your preferred time and who will be moving your boat!
Note that the there is still work to be done on the docks to make them safe for securing your second most valuable hard asset (?) so members who launches this weekend will have to make other arrangements to secure their boat until Hugh Scarth indicates the dock are ready.
Please remember to check back for details on Friday and Start Times.

LAUNCH - May 30 and 31
We will be launching on May 30 and 31.
There will be a form at the club for people to put in their:
Requested time to launch
and
who will be moving your boat
(You can also email me at driecken@nb.sympatico.ca)
Keep in mind that the yard is full and some boats will have to go in earlier because of this. As such, adjustments will be necessary to tweak the schedule during the launch.

Launch Weekend - POSTPONED
Doug Riecken, Director of Launch and Haul, has announced that the launch this weekend has been postponed two to three weeks due to continued high water. (Launch Weekend was scheduled for May 16th & 17th)
Once the water level is low enough to begin pounding pilings, it will take some time to get the docks in shape to safely moor boats at them.
Please stay tuned for further updates, both via this Blog or by email.

River Forecast
As you can see from the pictures below, the river remains high, but should stay steady. This is from the River Watch website posted Wednesday, May 2:
"With the forecast cool and dry weather for the province, melting of the snow pack in northern areas is expected to be slow. Most interval lands and meadows along the lower St. John River and its tributaries remain water covered.
"In response to the weather so far this week, water flows and levels have been fairly steady. Based on the forecast weather, these trends are expected to continue for the forecast period. In the lower St. John River basin, water levels have leveled off and should remain steady with only minor fluctuations." http://www.gnb.ca/public/english/2007-0022e.htm Posted May 2nd
I heard last weekend that a couple of boat owners were considering launching on Friday. Does anyone know what the plans are? Looks like it would be pretty wet!
All these photo's were taken Wednesday afternoon at High Tide.

Launch - 4 Weeks Away
Geoff Moon, Director of Launch & Haul, would like to remind everyone that this year's launch is scheduled for Friday, May 18 and Saturday, May 19. This is, of course, weather and docks permitting. He will be providing updates as the time draws closer so don't forget to bookmark this site and check back occasionally.
He is also looking for volunteers to assist on both days. Geoff says: "I've put in an order for it to be warm & sunny with light winds, so it should be a great way to spend a few hours - down on your new wharf and breakwater!" Wow, who could ask for anything better than that!?! Thanks Geoff!
